If you want something new and are willing to take some risk you may want to look at http://www.myc4.com. This peer-to-peer lending platform let´s you lend money to African businesses. Average interest is currently around 10.7%. (However, if the business fails you loose the money. I think typical microfinance default rates are 2-5%.)

Also:: Your money is doing GOOD things since it helps poor Africans come out of poverty. I have invested over 10.000 Euros in 150 African entrepreneurs on MyC4 since last autumn. 12 have so far repaid. The other loans are still running and so far I have not yet had any defaults. (Although they might still happen.)

You should try investing in Penny stocks. These are companys that are just starting up their businesses and there stocks are under 5.00. You have to be carefull with these companies becuase there are some companys that try and rip you off so you have to do some research on the company before investing in them. There are times that penny stocks go from .0001 to .80 cents in a month. If you think about it, if you had invested 100 dollars when it was at .0001 and held the stock until it reached .80 cents by now youd be a millionaire!
